Boom car
Earthquake!

First... loud cracking noises. Then the shaking started. Cats were freaked, all hunched up and staring north... the direction I first heard the noises.

Prelinary report: 5.6, centered in Chino Hills.

Eeeep!

*grabs onto Jels and the kitties*

Are you okay?

So far, so good.

There's been an aftershock, but much smaller than the first one. I think my cats are feeling aftershocks, too. My male tabby wants affection right now.

I don't see any damage. Been sniffing around (literally) to see if there's any gas leaks.

I see on the news that the Griffith Observatory has been evacuated, as were all the rides at Disneyland.

They've got to check the rides to make sure they're still safe.

I didn't realize you and I were close together in RL! I'm near Pasadena...sounds like you were closer to the epicenter....

I'm south of you. I think Chino Hills is north of here. Let me Google it..

It's north and east of me (I'm in Huntington Beach). Looks like it's south and east of you. Maybe a little closer to you than me.

Oh crap. I hope everyone and everything is ok.

Hey, good reason to have pets, I always say - natural disaster radars like no other.

P.S. Looks like David or Colby win their bet ("Fault Lines") :-)

So far, I haven't heard of any injuries. My mom, my cats and I are uninjured.

The worst damage so far seems to be a broken water main in Chino Hills.

Bwa ha ha! (On the bet comment)

I'll do my best. I was ready to dive for cover under the kitchen table if things started falling, but it wasn't necessary.

We had one flower pot fall over and crack. Thus far, that's the extent of the damages here at Casa Weber.

Oh good, you're all okay. *huggles*

*sets VSB protective barrier around your house*

*shudders* I would be a mess if I was on a ride at Disneyland when the earthquake hit. Or just think it was a side effect of a bumpier than usual roller coster. *shudders*

*huggles you and your family again, cuddles kitties*

Thanks for the VSB protection!

I'd probably think the shaking was part of the ride. It's actually very difficult to recognize an earthquake when you're in a moving vehicle. The first thought is usually that it's a flat tire.

Eek! Glad you and kitties are okay!
