Title: Walk in the Park
Author: Jelsemium
Fandom: Numb3rs
Author's Notes: Looking for a Numb3rs community where I can feel comfortable.

It was a beautiful summer day (southern California runs to those); the sun was shining, the birds were singing and there was just enough of a breeze to keep things cool without blowing annoying pine needles into the yard.

Alan Eppes looked outside and decided it was the perfect weather for a walk in the park. Which is why he lured his youngest son, Charlie, into the back yard and locked him outside.

"DAD! I have WORK to do!" Professor Charles Eppes bellowed at the door in a decidedly unprofessorial manner.

"It's not going anywhere!" Alan yelled back through the locked and bolted door. "You, on the other hand, are going to the park!"

"Would you at least unlock the garage so that I can get my bicycle?!"

"No! You'll just bike over to the university and work in your office. I want you walking and getting fresh air! Come back in an hour with something that resembles the beginning of a sunburn, and I'll consider letting you in!"

"But, Dad!"

"Less arguing, more walking!"

"Dad!"

"The clock doesn't start running until you start walking!"

Faced with the inevitability of a walk in the park, Professor Charles Edwards Eppes pouted like a three year old, threw up his hands, and sulked away from the house.

His father watched smugly from the air-conditioned comfort of the Eppes family home for a few minutes before going into the living room and turning on the baseball game.

Exercise was for kids.
